Mail-In Knife Sharpening

Not on Oahu? Or maybe it's just easier to ship them? No problem — send us your dull knives from anywhere in the United States and we'll get them razor-sharp and delivered right back to your door.

Why Mail Your Knives to Us?

Professional sharpening shouldn't be limited by geography. Here's why customers across the country trust us with their blades.

Expert Precision Sharpening

Every blade gets the right approach — whetstones and angle guided system for fine work, or the low speed belt grinder for heavier restoration. Your steel stays cool and undamaged.

Safe & Insured Returns

Your knives are returned via USPS Priority Mail with tracking and insurance, so you always know where they are.

Fast Turnaround

We sharpen within 1–2 business days of receiving your package. Most customers have their knives back within a week.

Same Prices as Local

$1.25 per inch of blade length — the exact same rates as our in-person service. No mail-in markup.

All Knife Types Welcome

From Japanese chef's knives to hunting blades, serrated bread knives to pocket knives — we sharpen them all.

Nationwide Coverage

All 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii. Wherever you are, we're just a shipment away from giving you a sharper edge.

How to Ship Your Knives

Follow these simple steps to safely pack and ship your knives. Proper packaging protects your blades, our team, and postal workers.

1

Clean & Dry Your Knives

Thoroughly wash and completely dry each knife before packing. This prevents rust during transit and keeps everything hygienic.

2

Wrap Each Knife Securely

Wrap each knife individually in several layers of newspaper or cardboard. Secure with tape or rubber bands. Place a layer of padding between each knife so blades never touch.

3

Pack in a Sturdy Box

Place your wrapped knives in a rigid cardboard box slightly longer than your longest blade. Fill all empty space with crumpled newspaper, bubble wrap, or packing peanuts. Do the "shake test" — if anything moves, add more padding.

4

Include Your Info

Place a note inside the box with your full name, return shipping address, phone number, and email. This ensures we can match your knives and notify you throughout the process.

5

Ship to Us

Ship your package via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. We strongly recommend choosing a service with tracking and purchasing shipping insurance for your peace of mind.

6

We Sharpen & Return

Once we receive your knives, we’ll sharpen them within 1–2 business days and ship them back to you via USPS Priority Mail with tracking. You’ll receive an email with your tracking number.

Important Packing Tips

  • Never ship knives in an envelope or soft mailer — always use a rigid cardboard box.
  • Wrap blade edges completely. Exposed blades can cut through packaging and injure postal workers.
  • Do the "shake test" before sealing — shake the box and listen. If anything moves or rattles, add more padding.
  • Use USPS Priority Mail, UPS, or FedEx with tracking. We are not responsible for packages lost without tracking.
  • Do NOT include knife blocks, sheaths, cases, or accessories unless you want them returned (they add to return shipping weight).
  • Label the outside of the box: "SHARP OBJECTS — HANDLE WITH CARE"

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of knives do you accept?

We accept virtually all knife types — chef’s knives, paring knives, santoku, nakiri, bread knives, serrated knives, pocket knives, hunting knives, fillet knives, and more. If you’re unsure about a specific blade, just contact us before shipping.

Do you sharpen scissors or garden tools by mail?

Our mail-in service is exclusively for knives. For scissors and garden tools, visit us in person at our Ewa Beach location — we’d love to help you there!

How long does the whole process take?

Sharpening takes 1–2 business days once we receive your knives. Total turnaround including transit is typically 5–10 business days depending on your location and shipping method.

How does shipping work?

You handle shipping both ways — ship your knives to us using your preferred carrier, and include a prepaid return label or we can discuss return shipping options. We recommend USPS Priority Mail for tracking and insurance.

What if my knife is chipped or damaged?

We can repair minor chips and damage as part of our standard sharpening. Severe damage or broken blades may require additional work — we’ll contact you with an estimate before proceeding.

Are my knives insured during the process?

We take excellent care of every knife we receive, but we recommend purchasing shipping insurance for your outbound shipment. Once your knives arrive at our shop, they’re covered by our care guarantee. Return shipping includes USPS Priority Mail insurance.

Can I include a note about specific preferences?

Absolutely! If you have preferred edge angles, want a particular finish, or have any special instructions, include a note in your package and we’ll accommodate your request.
