Common Questions
Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Don't see yours? Reach out — we're happy to help.
How much does knife sharpening cost?
Knife sharpening is $1.25 per inch of blade length. For example, a 4-inch paring knife is $5, an 8-inch chef knife is $10, and a 12-inch slicing knife is $15. Garden tools range from $10–$20 depending on the tool. We also offer bulk discounts — check out our current promotions.
What types of knives do you sharpen?
We sharpen all types — Japanese knives (Shun, Global, gyuto, santoku, nakiri, deba, yanagiba), German knives (Wusthof, Henckels, Victorinox), hunting knives, fillet knives, pocket knives, serrated bread knives, cleavers, and more. If it has a blade, we can sharpen it.
How long does sharpening take?
Most knives are sharpened and ready the same day. Larger batches may take a few hours. We give you a realistic timeframe when you drop off.
What equipment do you use?
We use professional-grade whetstones, an angle guided sharpening system, and a low speed belt grinder. The right tool depends on the knife — whetstones and the angle guided system for fine work, the low speed belt grinder for heavier restoration. Either way, we keep the blade cool throughout the process to preserve the steel's temper and hardness.
Can you fix a chipped or broken knife tip?
Yes, we repair chips and broken tips. Minor chip repair is included at no extra cost. Severe damage may require additional work — just bring it in and we'll give you an honest assessment.
